Private Training
One on One
Behavior Consults
You, me and your dog
This is for folks who want to be the most involved in their dog’s training. At an initial consult we discuss your goals, your dog’s relevant history and then proceed working through a tailored, step by step training plan. We will demo the training, coach you to implement the plan and answer any questions. Follow up includes, personalized notes and homework after each session as well phone and email support for the duration of the case.

Day Training
Me and your dog
After an initial consult with you and your dog, I’ll take your dog each session for training. Some transfer will be necessary for consistency at home, but I will install or modify behaviours for you. In addition to building good manners, this training also provides valuable mental enrichment to keep your dog engaged and happy while you go about your day. I will keep you posted on progress between sessions. A great options if you have limited time for training or just want a pro to do it!

Online Training
You, me and your dog, virtually
We can do dog training remotely? - Yes! So much of our job is coaching you to work with your dog and to create an environment where your they can be successful. Online training is convenient and productive. We will discuss your goals, your dog and their history then go over management and your customized, step by step training plan. We will use videos and live demos as appropriate to support your learning in addition to reviewing video of you training to provide additional coaching.

The Full Nelson
Me and your dog, you sometimes
A comprehensive, thorough training program. Training a dog who is well adjusted and polite in a variety of settings takes a lot of time and energy. This intensive includes 3 sessions of training a week over 8 weeks which ensures repetition and consistency. These are especially important through critical developmental periods such as puppyhood and adolescence, or in order to work through a specific behavioral challenge thoroughly. The intensive is a fantastic option for those who just don’t have the capacity or interest to do most of the training themselves. You’ll be there for an initial consult and some transfer sessions to ensure consistency at home, otherwise we will take the reins. Weekly reports are provided to keep you up to date. The Half Nelson is a shorter 6 week long option with sessions 2 times a week.

Adolescent dogs - This can be a challenging behavioral period where new issues can arise and our dogs feel like rebellious teenagers! Consistency, clarity and effective management are keys to making it through this phase!

Please note: I am going on maternity leave after the first week of September 2026. Packages purchased this summer can roll over to my return to work in winter 2027. But please plan accordingly.
Available to clients within 15 minutes of Nelson
Sessions may be used over a maximum of 12 weeks for the Full Nelson and 10 weeks for the Half Nelson.
Maintenance of certain aspects of training and management at home is required to preserve training progress per weekly instructions.
Cost:
The Full Nelson: 24 Session over 8 weeks- $2900
The Half Nelson: 12 Sessions over 6 weeks. $1500

Group Classes
Group classes are held every few months and are an affordable and fun way for you and your dog to learn with peers in a community setting.

We teach small classes for puppies 8- 16 weeks old (exceptions made for some small breeds) with a focus on socialization to other puppies, humans, objects, noises and body handling, in addition to basic obedience training. Puppies form their impressions of the world in their critical socialization period before they are 16 weeks old. We want to make sure they form positive associations with the things they will encounter in their life so that they are friendly and confident dogs. During puppy class we will guide you through this process and have fun while we are at it! Plenty of puppy play will be facilitated!

Our basic manners class builds on what you learn in puppy class and is designed to support you through your dog’s adolescence, an often challenging period! We will work to refine your dog’s manners by building a solid recall, practicing leash walking skills, teaching a stay, working around distractions and more.

Join me for an early morning class to build your dog's trail skills so they can join you on your adventures as a well behaved and reliable companion. Plus, great mental enrichment for them before you start your day! Skills built will include staying close, recall, passing others politely, pulling over and more. The class meets at various trailheads around Nelson.
Additional Services
Reactive Dog Walks
Do you just need a break from walking your reactive dog sometimes? Maybe you don’t quite trust anyone else do it or your dog is not suitable for a group walk? Let me bring my behaviour and training knowledge to your dog’s outings and put you at ease that they are in knowledgeable and competent hands who will preserve their training and be tuned into their triggers. This option is open to clients who are currently or have in the past worked with us or other approved trainers in the area.
Wedding Dog Handling
I know it is important to have your closest friends and family with you to celebrate this big day - including your dog! I also know that your canine pal is the last thing that you want to be worrying about that day given the thousand other moving parts.
From doggie chaperone for a few hours, to training them in advance to bring you the ring down the aisle or helping you assess -is being a wedding participant right for your dog? We are there to worry about your dog on the big day so that you don’t have to.

Any in person session can be used for day training.
Worried about the price of training? We want to find a way to help you and your dogs. We are open to legitimate bartering offers and have a mutual aid scholarship fund available to help with training fees when needed. Here is more info.

Video analysis between sessions
There is no guarantee in animal training. While we offer our best prognosis, the unpredictable nature of animals and a wide range of variables in a dog’s world makes it impossible to guarantee outcomes. In fact we believe it would be unethical to do so. For challenging cases we may require a minimum number of sessions in order to maximize the potential for success.
